AMBIENT LIGHT : What’s important isn’t how much there is, but how much is falling on your projection surface.
THREE TYPES OF LIGHT:
Incident – the light falling on a surface.
Reflected – the light reflected from a surface.
Ambient – the light not coming directly from a light source.

CONVERSION FACTORS
1 candela = 1 lux
1 footcandle = 10.76 lux
1 lux = 0.0929 footcandles
Lumen – the standard unit of luminous flux for measuring the total light output from a light source (e.g., a projector).
Lux – one lumen per square meter.
Candela – one lumen per steradian (the fraction of the surface area of a sphere equal to the square of the radius divided by
the total surface area). One candela per square meter (cd/m2) is known as a “nit.”
