 The COMPUTRACE software offers
users the ability to report on all of their computer assets, track and recover stolen
computers/laptops as well as the deletion of sensitive data remotely.
Asset tracking.
Lets you efficiently monitor via the Customer Centre website who is using your computers,
what hardware and software changes they make and where they are located. Includes:
Licence Compliance - will check to ensure the software is licensed.
Check on Software installed - to ensure that only the permitted software is being used.
Anti-Virus Software - will check to ensure the anti-virus software is correct and up to date.
Recovery.
When you report the theft to the police, you will be given a crime reference number. Once you
have given us the crime reference number, our Recovery team then flags the reported computer/
laptop as stolen at our Computrace Monitoring Centre. The computer will call in every 15 minutes
online to report its location. The Recovery team will provide your local police with the tracking
information and the necessary documentation to procure search warrants and recover your stolen computer.
Data Delete.
Available at an additional cost, the data delete function is a NATO approved deletion algorithm
to ensure sensitive data is permanently removed from the computer if it has been stolen. The
system can delete folders to individual files or complete hard drive deletion for sensitive or
confidential information.
Targeting Files to be deleted.
Computrace Data Deletes can remove data at the file, directory and operating system level.
There are three options available:
Data Delete with Operating System (OS) - all files including the OS removed from the hard drive.
Data Delete excluding Operating System (OS) - all files except the OS removed from the hard drive.
File or Directory Specific Data Delete - choose specific files, file types and/or directories to be deleted.
When Data Delete completes, a log file can be viewed in the Customer Centre website. This log file
confirms that all sensitive data has been deleted and helps companies comply with data protection regulations.
